Why Choose Us

Southern Health Partners, Inc. is the leading provider in county inmate medical care. For the past 20 years we have been developing our program to best serve you, our customers.

All of our programs offer the following:

Cost Savings

Our cost savings initiatives come from a multitude of sources. The programs include: bill scrubbing and discount negotiation for medical claims, bulk purchasing and sub-contracting, service reporting, and on-site services, just to name a few.

Reduced Risk

SHP indemnifies its county customers and maintains higher than industry standards in insurance coverage.  The SHP Risk Management department is designed to reduce or eliminate the impact of negative events through training, processes, and practice.

Improved Quality of Healthcare

We treat each individual in our care as our patient with the use of the most current treatment regiments in modern medicine. Our ability to partner with local community providers also allows for best practices and continuity of care.

Streamlined Operations

Our many years of experience have allowed us to develop streamlined operations in all departments. From the use of clinical pathways in medical services, to the cost analysis reports for effective use of funds, we achieve a program which efficiently serves both our customer and our patients.

Our People

We understand our customers, period.  We understand them, because we used to walk in their shoes.  We are the only company in this industry which can boast that all of our Correctional Health Consultants have a background in law enforcement and jail administration.  We use their experience with jail operations, county budget planning, and law enforcement to build each one of our customer’s unique inmate medical programs.  In addition to our Correctional Health Consultants, our customers are also assigned a Regional Representative who has a clinical background and education.  Each of our Vice Presidents of Operations have achieved certification as Certified Correctional Health Professionals through the National Commission on Correctional Healthcare (NCCHC).
